Our environmentally-conscious artisan sea salt is made from 100% sea water filtered through Blackthorn branches - a combination that gives it a distinctive tangy, mellow and sweet flavour and satisfying crunch! Reviving centuries-old techniques, the key to our production is a striking 8m high, 25m long blackthorn tower - the only working one in the world, and the first of its kind in the UK!
Being the only salt in the world made in this way, the Blackthorn crystals are unique and desirable as a versatile sea salt which has been tried and tested by chefs across the country with great acclaim, including 10 Michelin Starred restaurants. Chefs have already experimented with Blackthorn for a multitude of uses: from ice creams, chocolates and deserts to floating on a gazpacho, incorporating in cheeses, cooking and curing, ferments and cocktails as well as the more expected, for use as a finishing salt.
The fully recyclable tub which can easily be wiped down, ensures that our sea salt flakes are kept safe and dry in kitchens.
